She is a Family Life Educator and Addiction Counsellor. Her placement for Addictions was at the Good Shepherd helping men prepare to enter a treatment facility by being abstinent.
Her nursing placement was at the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health on the Schizophrenia Floor. She took courses from CAMH on Withdrawal and Nutrition for substance abusers.
Helen teaches Anger Mgt, Alcohol Education, Substance Abuse and Domestic Violence classes. Many court mandated individuals have taken her classes.
Helen was born in Chatham and lived in Wallaceburg and Dresden until she finished High School. She has published two books, Vegetarian Cooking Today and the Great Physician As Counsellor. She made a professional presentation called Mental Health Comes First in Chicago. Helen is continually interested in research and plans to do more writing and presenting in the future.
